This ride as many local ones do, went through many old mining communities. This disused Miner's Welfare Club sums up how the once major industry in the area has vanished. I don't even know of an mine open anywhere other than for catering to Heritage Tourism. This sort of dilapidated building and the occasional half a winding wheel is about the only remnants of the industry. No entirely bad in some ways because at tleast the greening of once heavily polluted areas is a positive thing.
